think about it

I read an article today that has lead to some great conversations. Just something to think about. Check it out and let's chat.

I could not agree more. It's like we keep mowing our neighbor's yard when our own yard is overgrown and full of trash. Or something like that. Bold move to print this right now, Anderson. Nicely done.

i agree. it's similar to my beef with the church. i feel like too many times we over look what's right here in front of us and think we can ONLY do "missions" in other countries.

[for the record...i think both are important. we just can't forget about the people here that need help too]

I'm right there with you Kristen. I see both sides. But I definitely think that we can't forget about the widows and orphans that are suffering here. America can't be the savior of all other countries. I'm not saying we shouldn't be compassionate to others and do what we can to help. But we can't keep being distracted by the plight of others while our friends and neighbors are sick and homeless.

Seems like an impossible situation either way. When you see this... http://cnn.com/video/?/video/world/2010/01/18/cooper.boy.injured.cnn

However, I do agree with the author. Immediate response is an obligation, but continued financial and political handholding from our government doesn't seem wise given our state.

Thanks for sharing that!
