Go CW Go

Nothing like a 16 hour day to get a crack-head teen runaway a placement.

That's right people...it all started with the phone call at 4:26am.(Wouldn't have been so bad had I been asleep before 1am.) My day finally ended at 8pm with the teen in a lock down facility to get the help he needs. We had some good conversations today after he sobered up. (Don't worry, he tested .40 for alcohol at 2:30am and it took him till noon to be coherent.) I think it finally hit home when he couldn't remember anything since Saturday. Hopefully he cleans up so he stays out of jail.

At least he's safe now and I can finally sleep.

All in a days work...

I scheduled a really old lady for a mammogram today. Man, it was tough. She was reallllllly old.

Seriously, the longer you hold out with this job, the more likely you'll get to go to heaven.

Fight the good fight.

Oh. My. Word. sometimes I wonder what in the world I am doing working in this crazy job with crazy hours and depressing stories, then I stop and think about how much worse it could be if it weren't for people like you and the rest of us CW staffers to step in and try to help these people. I'm sorry you had such a long day, but I'm glad it ended well for you.

Girl. That sucks. I hope he gets the help he obviously desperately needs. Situations like that make me very sad and make my stomach hurt.

OK, girl, I know you don't know me, but we went to the same college, so we have that in common at least. Check out my latest blog entry - regarding my Boss From Hell, that I met right after I graduated from SNU. (Caution - my blog has some strong language. Hopefully it won't burn your virgin eyes.) Ok, that said, I hope it gives you a giggle and encourages you to do exactly what you want to do with your career path. Take care, DG
