profound statement

I got an email this weekend from my friend and neighbor Ashley. I think she's pretty eloquent. I think I am not. She said this:

"Please let me know what language you speak in these times. I'll learn it."

I thought that was so profound.  After thinking it over, we all speak different languages at different times in life. I speak one language in happy times. I speak another in hard times. I speak another with family and another with friends. I speak one with kids and one with adults. It's hard to be multi-lingual. And it's hard to translate others languages in different seasons of life. What a good question to ask.

For the record, I speak the language of humor and ice cream and movies in times like these.

What language do you speak and when?

I speak the language of busy-ness and bike riding and long dinners, in almost every time. And humor. Always humor.

Praying for you always.

Love that! I think I speak a lot of dr.seuss and shel silverstein and bandaids and untied laces and classical literature and no.2 lead pencils-- not to mention my native-home language, which includes but is not limited to buzz lightyear and lighning mcqueen pull-ups and skinned knees and happy-dancing feet and lots of tickling and stock in whole milk. ;)

I LOVE this post. I speak ice cream ALWAYS. I speak experimental baking mostly in social moods. Coffee almost always and sewing when I want to be a loner. Finally, working out (yoga, kick boxing, spin class or plain old running) when I am frustrated and give up.
