what should i do?

So, since it's looking like this seizure thing isn't going to be figured out for a while, I'm considering working for Starbucks (insurance) and going back to school for a masters. The problem is, I still don't really know what I want to do so I'm struggling with the decision to possibly accrue more debt and get a masters that may not benefit me in the long run. On the other hand, I don't think I'll be a person that has a career in something for 10, 15, 20 years. So...here's what I'm considering.

-Law School.
-School/Guidance Counselor
-Speech/Language Pathology
-Something with Design
-LMFT
-MBA (seems to be pretty useful across the board)

I know...it doesn't seem like any of that goes together...which is part of the problem.

So, I need some feedback. What should I do?

EDIT: So I spent some time thinking about what I would want to do if there were no limits (money, insurance, where I live, etc) and I decided I would be the one who sets up the rooms/stuff for pictures in magazines, specifically RealSimple. Either that, or people would pay me to go through their stuff and get rid of it/organize it. I would love that.

Take the LSAT and the GMAT, then decide based on your scores. If you decide Law School or MBA, I know a cool couple who will give you way too much advice.

what would you do for a career - if you were independently wealthy and could work for free?

ew! ew! i get to comment on this one! okay...going back to school is fun. it's stressful and you feel like you're going to fall off the edge of the world sometimes, but it's a fun stress.

law school: i've heard positive and negative. mostly negative unless you are 100% sure that it's what you want to do and have always dreamed of doing it and are just that "type." so if you're just thinking of doing it to do something, i would encourage other thoughts. it's daunting and can be grossly boring (from my little experience with int'l law).

this is the best advice i was given: when you go to bookstores and buy books, what books do you either buy or are drawn to and don't buy b/c you don't have money (but if you did you would buy them).

I like what Kendra and Shannon said. I think you should definitely pursue something that inspires and excites you. Just from things you have said and the TV programs you have talked about I think design might be a good direction for you. However, if that is not where your passion lies then that may not be the best option. At any rate, I do think going back to school might be a good idea. Hope that helps. :)

Zach- Thanks for the info, I couldn't remember the names of the tests i should be checking out...

KT- I would be someone who traveled and wrote their opinions about what you should see when you go there. I'd start in Ireland.

Shannon- I don't go to bookstores and I don't enjoy reading so I don't own many books so I can't really answer that question. I'm drawn to the RealSimple magazine.

... I'll leave you with that.

So...maybe you and carl could team up and write travel books from a thrifty/cool/young traveler's perspective? Carl could shoot the awesome photos - you could provide the text/advice/hints about traveling to that area. For now, why don't you start with closer by. Start a blog and advertise it to the Daily Oklahoman, or Oklahoma Magazine, The Gazette, The Oklahoma Convention & Vistors Burear or other publications/organizations that might benefit from including your info? Why not try? Nothing to lose - right?

So can you just call up Real Simple or bug the heck out of one of the staff writers to find out what a person needs to be hired? :) My bro and sis-in-law are considering going back to school for teaching certs and/or masters. My hubby is getting certs done for his impending loss of a job. Unfortunately, one of my bridesmen is basically a non-friend because he is working on his masters. The other is working on his masters (or many) and travelin the world at the same time. My buddy on McCain campain has 4 degrees and hasn't settled on a job in 4 years. I will never go back to school. I'm about life and love, and in my world, I can't mix that with spending more time in class. Other people are great at it though :) Love the friends' comments!

OK, so for my two cents, from what I know and have seen, I think you would really enjoy something in the design field.
